Marquee (P4, P5)
In this unit we are asked to use the skills we have acquired in a program such as Photoshop and use them for a particular need. This need was to make a marquee for a arcade cabinet that was built in Fareham College. The marquee had to be 74 x 23, and displaying the game the we created in unit 22.
This mind map shows of my ideas at its first stage, this is where my final design came from, I took points from my mind map and implemented them into the design, with a few extra changes to complete it.
My first idea was to have my character and the game name next to it, something similar to this.
However I didn't like how it failed to portray a pyramid, I felt that the marquee needed to show of a pyramid and some game play. I asked many of my peers if they liked it, and most of them said that is was also lacking the presence of a pyramid, in the title it contains a pyramid, and for a marquee the strongly recommend me adding it in somewhere, so I had to think of an alternative.
Next is my final idea.
This is my draft version of the final design

When I showed this version to my peers, they found it better than the original design yet it was quite plan and boring, they would also like to see some more relation to my game. They also wanted me to add my logo somewhere on the marquee, they said if your going to promote your game, you might aswell promote you logo to, so I added that in, and here is the next and final version.
This is the final version, I am pretty happy with it, I was trying to go for different layers in terms of the floor and bring more essence from my game into the marquee. I added clouds and my logo, however I'm not happy with the colour of the text, yet its the closest to being some what professional any other colours are are mainly on the over side of the colour spectrum and making it look horrible against the lighter blue. So this will remain this way as my final design.

T-Shirt
My research about t-shirts, the research is going to help me create my own design. This research tells me and others the specifications that "Vistaprint" Requires.
This is some of the research that I stumbled upon:
Then I put some of my ideas into a mind map to display my ideas. I will put them into action when making my first drafts.
Like I mentioned you can see a rough idea of what I want to accomplish in my outcome and you can see what is expected to be in the final version.
These are my three draft t-shirts, they have all came from my mind map and they are using CMYK:
I have chosen the second one because it looks more appealing and appropriate for all ages.
This is some of the research that I stumbled upon:
The T-shirts that are being
designed must follow a certain specification. Each design must be set a certain
resolution, the resolution being “175 dpi”. The document needs to be in CMYK so
the printers can print in the exact colour you make it.
It must be sent as one of these
formats; the top three are there most preferred.
- Adobe Acrobat 9 Document (*.pdf) (recommended)
- Adobe Illustrator CS3 Artwork (*.ai) (recommended)
- Adobe Photoshop CS3 Image (*.psd) (recommended)
- Bitmap Image (*.bmp)
- GIF Image (*.gif)
- JPEG Image (*.jpg,*.jpeg)
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 Document (*.ppt)
- Microsoft Publisher 2010 Document (*.pub)

- PCX Image (*.pcx)
- PICT Image (*.pic,*.pict,*.pct)
- PNG Image (*.png)

Chess Piece (King)
I started out researching the king chess piece through images and its purpose. This link will take you to a PDF which will inform your on some of my findings.

I then when on designing my own chess piece in the style of Kaiju/a strange creature. I starting mind mapping my ideas down
From this mind map, you can see a rough idea of what I was going for in terms of creature. I then changed it from colour to greyscale to give it more effect. Now I am going to link what it looked like when I started.
I came up with four ideas to start of with

I got feedback saying out of the four that I have created, number 2, the minotaur/pig looking thing was the better out of the four. So I came up with ideas to give it a better kick, something to make it unique, something to make it look better. So I came up with three examples, also I changed to background do a dark grey gradient to make the images stand out more.

I then got some more feedback helping me in deciding which of the three final chess pieces I should put forward. The most liked one was the one with wings, so what I did was I changed the canvas so its now landscape and scales my chess piece up so it fill the screen.

However I made a few adjustments and gave my creature a bit of an angle, you can see that in the link below.

I really liked the out come of this angled piece, I am now going to create a
